Network users are informed of the details of audiovisual programme content by inserting at least part of the information and transmission times associated with each programme in predefined frames of display screens. Links are established between each of these screens so as to produce a sequence of announcements linking the broadcast of the screens, the sequence then being transmitted on the network channel so that each screen is broadcast for a predefined period.
