Herbicidal agent contg. 2,6-dichloro-3-fluorobenzonitrile (I) is new. Also claimed are: (A) the prodn. of (I) by reacting 2,6-dichloro-3-fluoro-benzaldoxime (II) or 2,6-dichloro-3-fluoro-benzamide (III) with a dehydrating agent at 0-300 degrees C under 0.001-10 bar pressure; (B) starting materials (II) and (III) as well as intermediates such as (IV). (I) is known from JP3090057. |
