<p>A portable device for exercising the abdomen and back comprises an upstanding guide track on which is mounted a sliding carriage with handles which lie alongside the track. The handles enable a user to guide the carriage up and down the track against resistance in either direction preferably provided by a tensioned tape disposed along the face of the track. In a preferred embodiment the track may be supported by a foot rest, with the degree of resistance regulated by an elastic cord.</p> |
