The watch includes a large date display including an indicator for the units (9) and an indicator for the tens (10), with a date control ring (14) situated between indicator driving mechanisms (17,18). The mechanisms drive their corresponding indicators when required and are each provided with a see-saw type locking arm (30) that prevents untimely displacement of the indicators when an external shock is applied to the watch and when the indicators are not being driven.
