PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological de-phosphorization apparatus which is capable of removing phosphorus stably while reducing the volume of sludge. SOLUTION: An original water is introduced into an anaerobic trough 11 together with a returning sludge from a sludge returning pipe 14. Water in the anaerobic trough 11 is forwarded partly to a solid and liquid separate device 16 and the rest is forward to an aerobic trough 12. A part of water containing released phosphorus in the anaerobic trough 11 is transferred to a secondary solid and liquid separator 16 through a piping 15 and is separated into the solid matter and liquid matter. The water separated is then transferred to a phosphorus remove device 17 where the phosphorus is removed. A part of the solid matter is transferred to the aerobic trough 12 through a piping 21. The rest is transferred to a dissolution trough 20 through a piping 19 and re- transferred to the anaerobic trough 11 after the dissolving treatment has been performed therein.
