PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a vehicle body side that can absorb part of an excessive impact from an interior. SOLUTION: The structure of a vehicle body side has a roof side part 8 disposed on either side of a roof part 10, a pillar part 5 disposed in a side body part 2, and a pillar trim 13 disposed on the interior side of the pillar part 5. The upper end of the pillar trim 13 is fixed to a pillar trim mounting seat surface portion 17 defined at the upper end of a pillar inner panel 7 disposed as the interior side of the pillar part 5, and a gap part 18 is defined in the vehicle width direction in an overlap X between the upper end of the pillar inner panel 7 near the pillar trim mounting seat surface portion 17 and the roof side part 8.
