PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing edge scrap of a strip is provided to automatically remove the edge scrap by sensing edge scrap flown into a line, prevent inflow of the removed edge scrap into facility, and prevent safety accidents by automating conformation of the edge scrap that is done with the naked eye by workers. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for removing edge scrap of a strip(S) comprises a sensing part(12) in which light reflected from the reflection plate is detected by a light detector when a sensing roll(14) onto which a reflection plate is adhered is rotated by touch of the edge scrap; an edge scrap removal part(16) in which a screw jack rotated by a motor is connected to a guide bar with the screw jack penetrated into an installation block, head of a support roll that is idly fixed to the installation block in such a way that the head is projected from the installation block, and the edge scrap is removed by a round knife installed on the pressing roll as a pressing roll forming head of a pressing roll corresponding to the head of the supporting roll is being ascended or descended on guide rails formed on the installation block by an ascent and descent cylinder; and an edge scrap entry preventing part(48) in which upper and lower pad moving cylinders rod ends of which are fixed onto upper and lower surfaces of felt attached upper and lower pads are installed on upper and lower fixed plates installed in the upper and lower parts of the strip.
