PURPOSE: An Internet phone connection apparatus using port filtering is provided to enable a user to use an Internet phone like a generic telephone without turning on a computer. CONSTITUTION: An embedded computer system having an Internet gateway function to use a generic telephone like an Internet phone is added to a personal Internet termination device. An Internet phone gateway program and a PAT network shared program are inputted to the non-volatile memory of the embedded computer system. When power is supplied to the personal Internet termination device, the data of a port corresponding to the Internet phone are filtered through the PAT network shared program and transmitted/received through the Internet phone gateway program. The data of other ports not related to the Internet phone are filtered through the PAT network shared program and transmitted to a personal computer that requires Internet connection.
