PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a life vest capable of favorably exhibiting a lifesaving function by generating necessary buoyancy at the moment of falling into water, without disturbing work in an ordinary condition. SOLUTION: This life vest is provided with a gas cylinder 6 contained in a case 4 attached to a human body mounting belt 2, and with an air bag 8 attached to the case 4. Between the gas feed port of the air bag 8 and the gas cylinder 6, a gas introducing start control means 10 are interposed. A connecting member 16 for connecting protruding portions 14, 15 forming the notch 12 of the air bag 8 is provided. A pipe 18 for blowing aspirated air into the air bag 8 is mounted on the protruding portion 14. The control means 10 detects the immersion of the vest into water to start gas introducing from the gas cylinder 6 to the air bag 8. A case body 4a contains the folded air bag 8, a case lid 4b is engaged with a body 4a, and the engagement with the body 4a is released by pressure, when the air bag 8 is expanded by introducing gas, thereby opening an opening of the body. |
