PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely deal with waste liquid by finding that a predetermined quantity of the waste liquid is stored in an exhaust liquid vessel, and finding whether the exhaust liquid vessel is housed at a predetermined position with a detecting means in order to surely dispose of the waste liquid after cleaning. SOLUTION: A waste liquid detection unit is characteristically equipped with the exhaust liquid vessel storing the waste liquid with which a printer is cleaned by a cleaning unit, and the detecting means for finding that the predetermined quantity of the waste liquid has been stored in the vessel.
