A method and a system for managing IP(Intellectual Property) are provided to manage whether each expense item is included in the asset by managing all expenses related to IP rights as the asset, managing change of the asset depending on a state of each IP right, and managing whether each item of the expense related to the IP property is included in the asset. An expense item definition storing part(111) stores an expense code discriminating expense items and an asset ID for discriminating intangible asset. An event bibliography information storing part(112) stores bibliography information, which includes an IP value, of a patent corresponding to the IP value. An expense detail storing part(113) stores an amount corresponding to the expense code by corresponding to the IP value. An intangible asset management controller(122) includes the expense code or the asset ID corresponding to the expense code includes the amount stored in the expense detail storing part corresponding to the expense code as the asset, and discriminates the asset by determining a status of the IP right corresponding to the IP value. An intangible asset management display part(132) displays the amount, which is included as the asset, as the asset corresponding to the status of the IP right.
