PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized edge seal capable of preventing the stand-up reading of a book, a magazine or a catalogue booklet at a shop front and capable of concealing the whole of wiring content or a part thereof to protect copyright and reducing the damage of the appearance of the book, the magazine or the catalogue booklet even if the edge seal is cut to be opened. SOLUTION: The edge seal is bonded to the end parts on the side of the edge of a front cover 2 or the like and a back cover 4 or the like through the part corresponding to the edge 6 so as to be incapable of being peeled. A non-peelable adhesive layer 8 is laminated to the inner surface excepting the part corresponding to the edge 6 of a seal base material 7 such as a paper material or the like and, further, the non-peelable adhesive layer 8 is laminated to the entire inner surface of the seal base material 7 such as the paper material to laminate the release paper 9 protecting the adhesive layer 8 to the inner surface of the part corresponding to the edge 6 of the adhesive layer 8 to form the edge seal.
