A plasma display device is provided to prevent a breakdown of driving elements due to a voltage variation of a load capacitor by parallel-connecting a power distribution unit with a diode. A capacitive load driving circuit includes a driving voltage source(1), a resistor(21), a diode(22), an address driver IC(3), a ground terminal(4), a capacitive load(5), and driving elements(6,7). The address driver IC includes a source terminal(8), a reference potential terminal(9), and an output terminal(10). The resistor is connected between the driving voltage source and the source terminal of the address driver IC. When the driving elements are turned off, a voltage is applied to X and Y electrodes at the other side of the capacitive load. When the potential of the output terminal is higher than the source terminal, the diode is turned on, and the voltage bar in the X and Y electrodes is absorbed by the driving voltage source.
