PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give warning about a remaining amount at a proper time in accordance with a using condition of a recording medium. SOLUTION: A remaining amount changing device 40 for changing the remaining amount is fixed to the tip part 34 of a storage tray 22. A reflection type photodiode 14 is arranged obliquely upward with respect to the remaining amount changing device 40. The remaining amount changing device 40 is constituted of a reflector 44 provided to be movable vertically and the like. The reflector 44 is constituted to be selectively fixable to any position of 'many', 'medium', 'few'.
