APPARATUS FOR REMOVING BASE METAL ON LANCE

PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing base metal on a lance is provided to remove base metal and slag stuck to the body of the lance that is charged into molten metal during refining furnace operation. CONSTITUTION: In a cylindrical lance which is ascended or descended through a lance hole positioned at the upper part of the refining furnace, and which blows oxygen into molten metal in a refining furnace, the apparatus for removing base metal on the lance comprises a base metal removing ring(15) which is fixed to the upper part of the lance hole, and on which a base metal removing blade(17) is formed to remove base metal stuck to the surface of the lance as the base metal removing blade(17) is being moved with being closely adhered onto the surface of the lance, wherein the apparatus further comprises an air pipe(18) which is mounted along the lower surroundings of the base metal removing ring(15), and on which a plurality of air jet nozzles are formed to jet air toward the surface of the lance, wherein irregularities are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the lower part of the lance and the inner circumferential surface of the base metal removing ring so that they are engaged with each other.
