PURPOSE: A remote DSLAM(Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) apparatus is provided to separate a CS(Concentration Shelf) and an MS(Modem Shelf) and then install the CS to an inside of a telephone station company and the MS to an apartment of an ADSL subscriber or an unmanned station of the subscriber's residential district. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of modem shelf DSLAMs(100) are installed to a remote unmanned station, when ADSL subscriber traffics are received from modems of a plurality of subscribers, converts the traffics into ATM cells and simultaneously multiplexes and collects and then transmits through an E1 line and also, when a plurality of ATM cells are received, converts the cells into ADSL subscriber's traffic and then distributes to the modems of the subscribers, respectively. A concentration shelf DSLAM(200) is installed to a telephone station and simultaneously connected to a plurality of modem shelf DSLAMs installed to a remote district through a plurality of E1 lines, and when a large volume of ATM cells are received from a plurality of modem shelf DSLAMs(100) or modems of a plurality of subscribers, collects the cells by STM-1 level and then transmits to an ATM exchange and also, when ATM cells are received from the ATM exchange, distributes the cells to the plurality of modem shelf DSLAMs(100) or the modems of the subscribers.
