APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REMOVING ROLL DUST OF TWIN ROLL TYPE STRIP CASTER

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for removing roll dust of a twin roll type strip caster is provided to prevent hot-band phenomena generated at the strip edge by efficiently removing dust that is generated at the edge part of twin rolls in a relatively large amount. CONSTITUTION: In a strip caster(10) in which molten steel(M) is cast into a strip(50) as molten steel injected into a space between twin rolls(20,20') is being solidified by rotation of the rolls(20,20'), the apparatus for removing roll dust of a twin roll type strip caster comprises a belt cloth(62) which is closely adhered onto the upper surface of the rolls(20,20') so that the belt cloth(62) is driven to remove dust; a cohesion roll which is installed in front of a transfer track of the belt cloth(62) so as to tightly maintain cohesion on the roll surface of the belt cloth(62); and a washing vat(70) which is installed at rear of the transfer track of the belt cloth(62) in such a manner that a part of the belt cloth(62) is immersed into the washing vat(70) so as to wash the belt cloth(62).
