PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece clamping device turnable according to need, which enables a container such as a returnable container to be easily and reliably held in an automatic flushing device and the like. SOLUTION: A longitudinal drive means 2 is mounted on the upper part of a clamping device body 1. One end of the first rod 4 is coupled turnably to a piston rod 3 coupled to the drive means 2, the lever center of the first rod 4 is journaled via the second supporting member 5b to the first supporting member 5a provided in the rear surface of the body 1, and the other end of the first rod 4 is journaled to one end of the second rod 6 inserted into a longitudinal through hole 1a of the clamping device. The other end of the second rod 6 and a lever member 8, which is journaled to a shaft 11 provided in the front surface of the body 1, are coupled together by a link member 7. A workpiece is held by an approximately L-shaped workpiece supporting arm 9, which is coupled to the lever member 8, and a pedestal 10 provided in the body 1. This enables easy adaptation to the sizes of the various containers, and the elasticity of the arm 9 enables the accommodation of variations in the dimensions of the synthetic resin containers.
