PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce problems such as a lumbago and a stomachache, which are caused by manual work, and a loss, which is caused to an operator by waiting for another operator during assembly work, by providing a holding device for enabling a transfer of a large-size product, for which a hook type, fork type or pinch type jig cannot be used. SOLUTION: The holding device for a sanitary ware is composed of a pair of right and left U-shaped jigs, which are used for the transfer of the sanitary ware, a pair of right and left rectilinear movable jigs, which are joined to the inside of the U-shaped jig, and a strut for making the U-shaped jig communicate with the movable jig. In the holding device, the vertical movement of the upper end of the movable jig brings about hold by the lower side of the U-shaped jig and the lower end of the movable jig.
