METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CORRECTING APPEARANCE OF VULCANIZED TIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for correcting appearance of a vulcanized tire that can enhance appearance by correcting a recess occurred on the tire side and not only can hold tire performance and quality but also can reduce tire cost and industrial wastes. SOLUTION: This device for correcting appearance is equipped with a correction mold 2 fitted with a profile surface corresponding the side Wa of the tire W on a worktable 1 and a hold-down apparatus 4 supported by an arm 3. In the inner surface 2a fitted with the profile surface of the correction mold 2, there is formed a recessed channel 5 having a shape corresponding to the recess Q occurred on the surface of the side Wa of the tire W. The hold-down apparatus 4 comprises a hold-down member 6 composed of a rubbery elastomer fitted with a determined curvature and pressed and contacted to the back of the side Wa and a pressing means 7 that presses the hold-down member 6 to the back of the side Wa.
