PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolled-medium supporting mechanism for a recording device capable of selectively changing back tension applied according to a recording medium used. SOLUTION: A holder is attached to an end of the recording medium wound into a roll and rotates in synchronization with the rolled recording medium. A friction flange is attached to a shaft part of the holder so as to rotate in synchronization with the shaft part and slide axially, and is supported to selectively press against and separate from a body of the recording device.
