PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding device which is capable of stably retaining consumables for binding sheets or the like and of operating for striking out. SOLUTION: This binding device comprises a cartridge 3 for retaining the consumables 4 for binding the sheets, a coil spring 32 for pressing the consumables 4 retained by the cartridge 3 to the opening part 31a side and a perforating member 16 which strikes out the consumables 4 pressed out to the opening part 31a to the sheets 5. In addition, the device is equipped with an elastic piece 31b which pinches the consumables 4 pressed out into the opening part 31a. The gap of the elastic piece 31a is widened following the strike-out action of the perforating member 16 and consequently, the consumables 4 pinched by the elastic piece 31a are freed.
