PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold device for expansion molding having such a construction that a cavity is kept airtight, regardless of the thickness of a surface member and a back member. SOLUTION: This device has a cavity 11 where expanded moldings are formed and the movable half 21 of a mold, along the face of which the surface member 12 is applied and the fixed half 22 of the mold, along the face of which the back member 13 is applied, installed in such a way that the outer peripheral parts of the halves 21 and 22 are surrounded by means of a movable frame 41 and a fixed frame 42. In addition, a sealing part 4b into which an elastic seal is assembled, is connected to the entire periphery of a parting line 4a between the movable frame 41 and the fixed frame 42 and further, a sealing part 2b into which the elastic seal is likewise assembled, is connected to the entire periphery of a parting line 2a between the halves 21 and 22. Thus the cavity 11 is isolated from the outside by the described sealing means.
