The distillation of a fluid by fractional diffusion in another fluid employs a pipe (3) with guides (4-7) generating different circulation velocities. The fluid to be distilled (1) is soluble in the other fluid (2), with diffusion at differing velocities. The process gives results comparable with fractional distillation.
