The invention relates to a communication device having a relay operating mode and a non-relay operating mode, where the mode is selectable by the user or in response to the operational status of the communication device. In this way, the use of relay modes of operation, such as Opportunity Driven Multiple Access (ODMA) is facilitated, leading to better network operation. The invention also relates to a method and apparatus for billing for communications services which enables users to be rewarded by network operators for relay operating mode operation of the communication device of the user. |
