The invention relates to a seatbelt retractor comprising a tensioning device, which acts on the belt shaft by means of a driven output gear. The invention is characterised in that in the force transmission path between the electromotor (16) and the belt shaft (12), a pre-blocking device (20, 21) for the belt shaft (12) is activated and controlled during the rotation of the output gear (18) in the direction of the belt retraction and extraction, said device acting solely during the tensioning operation. The blocking action on the belt shaft (12) is released, if a predetermined load that acts on the belt shaft (12) in the belt extraction direction is exceeded. |
