<p>The coupling assembly of metal pipes especially chimney pipes consists of the contact end (1) of the first pipe (2) and the contact end (3) of the second pipe (4) which are adjusted one to another so that one end goes into the other up to the adjoining rings (5) of both pipes. To connect both pipes (2 and 4), the design foresees at least one pair of springs (6,7) which are placed one on each pipe (2) and (4) respectively, in the axial direction so that their free end runs over the ring (5) and are distanced from the ends (1, 3). Each spring (6, 7) is designed in the shape of letter L or with a notch (8) running from one flank in the radial direction. The notch (8) of both springs(6,7) are located so that they lie overlapped on the contact ends (1 and 3) of both pipes (2 and 4), and that both springs (6, 7) are distanced from each pipe (2, 4,) so that their wider free ends (9) lying from the notch (8) towards the opposite pipe (4 or 2 respectively) run in the groove between the pipe and the other spring and is in mesh with the notch (8), where the part (10) of the free end (9) of each spring (6, 7) that protrudes sideways from the opposite lying spring is turned up backwards around the opposite lying spring (6,7).</p> |
