PURPOSE: A method for transmitting caller ID information using a voice encoder is provided to exactly display caller ID information by interpreting a caller ID, transmitted in an FSK(Frequency Shift Keying) method, through a voice encoder, reconfiguring and compressing it, and eliminating a distortion state generated when an FSK signal is compressed. CONSTITUTION: If an FSK caller ID, transmitted from an originating side exchange, is received to a terminating-side exchange(S301), the terminating-side exchange transmits the FSK signal to a voice encoder as it is (S302). Receiving the FSK signal, the voice encoder interprets the caller ID of the FSK signal(S303), reconfigures and compresses it(S304), and transmits the reconfigured and compressed caller ID it to a terminal(S305). The terminal displays the transmitted caller ID. |
