PURPOSE: Provided is a treatment method of acid gas containing hydrogen sulfide and other contaminants generated during the process for collecting impurity gas in the coke oven gas, using concentrated ammonia water, distilling and separating. By the above treatment, SOx is not discharged into air, contributing to the clean atmospheric environment. CONSTITUTION: The treatment method comprises: making a mixed gas by converting a part of hydrogen sulfide into sulfur dioxide by oxidation process; a step of introducing oxygen for second time to keep the equivalent ratio of hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide 1.5-2.2; inputting the mixed gas in which oxygen is introduced for second time into the catalyst reactor of making sulfur at 250-280°C; and, in addition, oxidizing remaining contaminants in the acid gas into nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water in the high temperature oxidation furnace at 1100-1250°C.
