PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image read processing system that corrects deteriorated read image data due to an external light component at reading of an original image by an image reader having a transparent original platen so as to prevent a level of an image outputted from an image processing unit from being decreased. SOLUTION: A pressing plate opening/closing sensor 1-61 sensing an opening/ closing state of a pressing plate 4-2 pressing an original placed on the original platen 4-1 is provided to a rotating part of the pressing plate or an external luminous quantity sensor 1-62 sensing a luminous quantity level of an external light on the original platen is provided to a position in the vicinity of the original platen 4-1 and depressed by the pressing plate 4-2. The image processing condition is set depending on respective opening/closing states of the pressing plate 4-2, the image processing condition in a preset opening/closing state is selected depending on the sensing result by the sensor 1-61 or 1-62 in the case of image reading operation and the image processing unit applies drive control to the image reader on the basis of the selected image processing condition.
