The lifting bracket consists of a flat plate (16) made from cut, pressed and/or folded sheet steel with a hole forming a ring (21) at its upper end, a fastening such as a bolt (18) connecting it to the engine, and a stop to prevent it rotating about the axis (A) of the bolt. The stop is in the form of a lug (26) on the lower end of the bracket engaging with a recess in the body of the engine between two vertical faces.
