PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furnace heater, and its manufacturing method, which can be manufactured simply at low cost. SOLUTION: The furnace heater 10 is made of a high melting point metal rod. The high melting point metal rod 1 consists of small portions 2, 2' of a plurality of high melting point rod materials having at end parts welding points 4 whose end faces are butt welded with each other, and the high melting point metal rod materials are made of metal containing either Mo or W.
