PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron gun for a cathode-ray tube that has improved in the voltage resistance property by making longer the surface distance between the electrodes in the insulating support member that fixes and supports a plurality of electrodes making potential difference and by weakening the electric field strength in the vicinity of triple contact point, and a cathode ray-tube. SOLUTION: This is a cathode-ray tube electron gun in which the plurality of electrodes 12-17 are fixed and supported between a pair of insulating support members 18 at a prescribed interval, and a protrusion 19 is provided at a place between the plurality of grid electrodes on the inner side of the insulating support member.
