PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert hierarchical type data into data in relational database format flexibly adaptively to alterations of the hierarchical structure of the hierarchical type data and to output the converted data. SOLUTION: A hierarchical type data analysis part 3 analyzes the structure of the hierarchical type data 12 and generates hierarchical structure information 13 showing the data items of the hierarchical type data 12 and a definition information matching part 4 collates the data items of the table defintion information 14 with the data items of the hierarchical structure information 13 and adds a new item to the table definition information 14 when the hierarchical structure information 13 has the new item; and a data storage part 6 stores the hierarchical data 12 by the items according to the table definition information 14 after the addition and a data access part 9 reads the hierarchical type data out of a data storage area 11 according to the table definition information 14 and outputs the read hierarchical type data as data in relational database format.
