PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an opposite side cannot immediately know E-mail reception in environment wherein an opposite-side E-mail terminal is not always connected to a network when E-mail is sent to the terminal. SOLUTION: When facsimile equipment 1 sends E-mail to the opposite-side E-mail terminal 14, the telephone number of facsimile of the same destination registered while made to correspond to an E-mail address is extracted and a transmission notice sentence showing that the E-mail is sent to the opposite- side E-mail terminal is FAXed to the opposite-side facsimile 13 having the mentioned telephone number. When the E-mail transmission notice sentence is sent, the E-mail main sentence is converted into image data, which are attached to the notice sentence and sent.
