PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp which is suppressed with the water that is emitted during the lamp manufacture and that becomes a cause for the degradation of the light flux and increase of mercury consumption, and which is improved in the property. SOLUTION: In the fluorescent lamp, the water emission property of the translucent container material such as glass at 500 deg.C is made in the range; water quantity <=0.5μL/g per minute.
