<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of accurately maintaining the reflecting surface shape of a reflecting mirror, efficiently cooling a lamp, efficiently performing air cooling and halogen cycle in response to the cooling structure of a projection device, and coping with large power and a high voltage to provide a large output. SOLUTION: This light source device is provided with a short arc lamp sealed with mercury and halogenated compound, the reflecting mirror for reflecting the light radiate from the lamp, and a glass plate arranged to cover an opening part of a front surface of the reflecting mirror. The lamp is fitted to a central bottom part of the reflecting mirror and nearly horizontally lighted. A flange part of the reflecting mirror is formed with opening parts at two or four positions, and at least one position of the opening part of the flange part is provided with a metal plate having a ventilation hole and a projection part to control the flow for cooling the lamp, and halogen cycle is thereby efficiently performed.</p> |
