PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having a good short-term input/output characteristic, particularly in a low temperature environment, by increasing the capacity of an electric double layer for an increase in the time constant of the battery, and causing a delay in time of a voltage change resulting from the reaction resistance of the battery, thereby making smaller a change in the battery voltage within a short time from the start of charge or discharge. SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery includes a positive electrode formed by binding compound oxides of lithium transition metals together as positive electrode active material by use of a binding agent, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte formed by dissolving a lithium salt into an organic solvent. At least one kind of conductive polymer monomer having an alkyl group and capable of being electrochemically polymerized within the battery actuation voltage is added to the nonaqueous electrolyte and the capacity of the electric double layer based on AC impedance method is 3F/Ah or more for the battery discharge capacity. |
