PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic manual providing system and a method capable of selecting and presenting automatically manual information on an item to be noted corresponding to the using state of a customer. SOLUTION: A center 100 collects and accumulates the information showing the using state of each copying machine 300 through a public network 2. When the customer operates a terminal 500 and requires provision of a manual page to the center 100 through an internet 3, the center 100 discriminates a user (customer) of the terminal 500 of a requestor, and analyzes the using state information of the copying machine 300 in the case of a regular customer of the copying machine 300. The center 100 selects a manual item to be noted corresponding to the analysis result, and produces the manual page for showing the selected manual item. The produced manual page is transmitted to the terminal 500 of the requestor in the output form discriminable from other information.
