PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance furthermore in a prior art DAB system or other systems vulnerable to partial band interference. SOLUTION: A subsystem 210 executes channel coding, modulating, transmitting, receiving, demodulating and channel decoding operations. The subsystem 210 includes an FM broadcast channel 230 for transmitting HIBOC DAB signal, and comprises a transmitter section including a convolution coder 220 executing internal channel coding, interleaving 222, DQPSK modulation 224 and OFDM modulation 226. A digital sideband and a modulated output from the OFDM modulator 226 corresponding to the digital sideband are passed through the FM broadcast channel 230 and transmitted to a receiver section comprising an OFDM demodulator 232, a DQPSK demodulator 234, a deinterleaver 238, and a Viterbi decoder 240.
