摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a composite thin film magnetic head having high quality while performing the measurement for inspecting the defect in the course of the manufacturing process. SOLUTION: When the composite thin film magnetic head formed by combining an MR head 3 and an inductive head 4 is manufactured, a pair of lead wires 17a, 17b for elements electrically connected with an MR element 9 through a pair of electrode films 12a, 12b, and a pair of lead wires 18a, 18b for coils electrically connected with a thin film coil 15 are formed on the same forming surface as a lower layer shield 5 at the position not overlapping with an upper layer shield used in common for a lower layer core 6 which is formed on these wires through a nonmagnetic insulating film, then respective constituting elements of the MR head 3 and the inductive head 4 are formed in the laminated state while measuring resistances by using a pair of lead wires 17a, 17b for the elements and a pair of lead wires 18a, 18b for the coils.
