METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MANDREL FOR SINTERED WICK

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing mandrel for sintered wick is provided to manufacture the mandrel easily removed after sintering the wick in an electric furnace. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of: coating boron nitride ceramic powder, parting agent, on a periphery of a stainless metal rod(9) made of stainless steel by dip-coating method; inserting the coated metal rod in a heat pipe; filling metal power between the heat pipe and the stainless metal rod; sintering the metal powder; and drawing the stainless metal rod. The stainless metal rod, a mandrel, is easily removed from a wick after sintering.
