PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IP multicast communication device and a method for providing contents that can accelerate the circulation of the contents in the Internet by achieving efficient and safe contents circulation platform and a contents business by ICPs and a communication service by ISPs. SOLUTION: The IP multicast communication device comprises a means for transmitting IP unicast data acquired from an IP unicast data transmission/ reception means to an IP multicast address and a port number that are specified by a transmission terminal via an IP multicast data transmission/reception means, and a means for transmitting IP multicast data acquired from the IP multicast data transmission/reception means to an IP unicast address and a port number that are specified by a reception terminal via the IP unicast data transmission/reception means.
