PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound reproducing device and a sound reproducing method for realizing a portable CD system which enables reduction in circuit scale of the entire CD system, has a conventional shockproof function, is adaptable to a CD-ROM and enables reproduction of data with compressed sound. SOLUTION: CD-ROM data outputted from a CD servo 100 is stored in a buffer memory 102 via a memory controller (2) 105, a microcomputer 103 inputs a necessary sector data into a digital signal processing system 109 from a buffer memory 102 via the memory controller (2) 105 by request, the digital signal processing system 109 realizes CD-ROM decode, voice compression decode and sampling rate conversion by software, converts them to sound digital data and the converted sound digital data is converted in sound data by a D/A converter 104. |
