PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound source direction estimating device and a directive sound pickup device that can obtain directivity in a desired direction in a short time and obtain the directivity in tracking the change in a direction of a sound source even when the sound source direction changes with time. SOLUTION: The sound source direction estimating directive sound pickup system 20 has M sets of microphones A, and is provided with a microphone array 21 that picks up sound coming from the sound source, a sound source direction estimating device 23 that calculates the arrival time difference from the picked up sound caused by the positions of the microphones A, a characteristic value and an eigen vector of the collected signal by each frequency to calculate a noise component of the picked up signal and estimates the arrival direction of the sound from the sound source on the basis of the calculated noise component and a directive sound pickup device 24 that records the sound pickup signal to have the directivity in the estimated arrival direction of the sound from the sound source.
