PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a lock holding power and locked strength of both male and female housings. SOLUTION: With the connector assembly with a lock mechanism provided with a lock protrusion set on the outside face of a male housing 3, a lock arm 15 having a lock claw 16 for engaging with the locked protrusion 7 set on the outside face of a female housing 4 through hinged leg parts 17 capable of elastic deformation and a pressure operating lever 18 set at the rear end of the lock arm 15, the male housing 3 is provided with a guide protrusion 10 extended forward from the locking protrusion 7 and slit parts 11, 11 on either side of the guide protrusion 10, and the female housing 4 is provided with the two hinged leg parts 17, 17 widely apart to the side, between which the guide protrusion 10 of the male housing 3 is inserted, and at the same time, the slit parts 11, 11 are so structured to get engaged with the hinged leg parts 17, 17, so that both side parts of the pressure operating lever 18 are linked with the female housing 4 through a pair of bridging pieces 19, 19.
