PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capping device to be applied to a cup mixing type cup type automatic vending machine for putting a cap on a cup containing a drink with excellent number of caps to be contained, functions, and cap replenishing performance. SOLUTION: This capping device 8 installed on a route in a cup carrying passage in the machine is composed of an assembly comprising a turret type cap containing cylinder 8a where a number of caps 9 are stacked and contained, a base 8b, and a cap drop ring 8c attached to the lower surface side of the base for separating the caps one by one. The inside of the cap containing cylinder is parted to form plural cup containing columns #1-#5 in a circumferential direction. When the column #1 becomes empty to let a sellout detection switch 8f detect no cups, the cap containing cylinder is rotated to be fed by the pitch, so that the caps are replenished from the next column #2 to the cap drop ring.
