PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving mechanism for an electric vehicle where a stop function is improved by attaching another lock mechanism, in addition to a side brake required during the vehicle stops. SOLUTION: In a drive of the electric vehicle, the rotary shaft of a motor used for a in-wheel motor system is provided with a locking mechanism 600 for stopping the rotation capable of being engaged/disengaged.
