PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element capable of emitting multi-colored lights by one chip and a manufacturing method thereof using a nitride semiconductor, thereby realizing a highly defined display. SOLUTION: After forming a nitride semiconductor layer, having a first active layer on a substrate, a nitride semiconductor layer having a second active layer different in band gap energy from the first active layer, is partially grown, separate from the first active layer, to form isolated unit light emitting elements each, having the nitride semiconductor active layers different in band gap energy on the same substrate, thereby enabling the multi-colored light emission by one chip. |
