PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide radio transmitter for continuously transmitting data capable of smoothly and highly precisely controlling a transmission power. SOLUTION: This radio transmitter is provided with a step gain control unit 9 capable of switching a gain like a step, and continuously controlling the gain in a switching process, a continuous gain control unit 13 capable of continuously controlling the gain at least until the gain is switched by the step gain control unit, a memory 23 including each table for storing a relation between the gain of the step gain control unit and a control voltage, a relation between the gain of the continuous gain control unit and the control voltage, the control voltage time profile of the gain switching process of the step gain control unit, and the control voltage time profile of the continuous gain control unit in the gain switching process of the step gain control unit, and a control processing part 22 for outputting the control voltage of the step gain control unit and the control voltage of the continuous gain control unit by referring to each table according to a commanded transmission power, and for controlling the transmission power.
